I was cleaning my car, went to open the gas door to wipe it down, and it was stuck shut! I tried pushing it back and forth, but nothing happened. Tried resetting it but it was still the same. Now my car is sitting in the garage. Anyone who has a similar problem?

Have you contacted your dealer regarding this? It sounds like the switch may be faulty. These switches can do different things depending on how you use them, so if both settings are acting strangely, it's more likely that the switch is faulty rather than the entire electrical system.

Don't try to DIY your way out of this if you don't want to pay more than you're supposed to. He is right, you should leave this problem to the experts.

Any updates? Did you touch anything on it? Like changing the mechanism/actuator or something?

Sounds like a common issue with electronic fuel door locks. If you’re out of warranty, you might have to remove the inner trunk liner and manually release it. If it keeps happening, I’d replace the actuator before it leaves you stranded at a gas station.

Be careful not to force it open or you could damage the mechanism. Try gently tapping or wiggling the door while pressing the release button. If that doesn't work check the fuse for the fuel door release it might be blown. If you're comfortable doing it you can try to manually release the door from inside the trunk using a pull-tab or access panel. If none of these solutions work you'll need to take your car to the dealership.
