My 3-year-old Golf MK7's fuel usage has increased. I now use 0.7–0.8 liters every 10 km instead of my typical 0.6-0.65 liters. It now only decreases to 0.8 liters, possibly 0.7, instead of the 1.5 to 1.6 liters it used to start at. Although both tires are class C for fuel economy, I recently converted from Nokian Hakka Black to Continental PremiumContact tires. There are no danger lights and the engine works well. What do you think could be causing this increase?

It might be bcoz of your recent tire swap. The Continental PremiumContacts might have more rolling resistance than your previous one, which can mess with your fuel effciency. Sure, theyre both class C, but small diiferences in the tread or material can still make an impact…also, make sure the tires are properly inflated, low pressure is a fuel killer!

Or he forgot to do an alignment. At least a minimal one.
